Sound and Drive Character
The core of Efektor Blues River is the Blue overdrive circuit, modeled with a JFET soft-clipping stage. Kuassa says the plugin is meant to reproduce the warm, tube-like breakup of a cranked amp, and the drive responds to how hard you play.
The ten top drive modifications give you different voicings of the same base circuit. Options include the Original Blues circuit, a redesigned WZ Craft version, an Op-Amp Mod, a Tweed Mod, and two Digi Screaming versions, one of them with bass boost. Switching between them lets you shift from a classic pedal feel to a more aggressive or bass-heavy character without changing your signal chain.
The plugin preserves the natural voice of your guitar, so it enhances the tone rather than replacing it. That makes it suited to subtle boosts as well as heavier drive.
