CUBE Upgrade from CUBE Mini is a plugin from Lunacy that extends the CUBE Mini instrument into the full CUBE version for existing owners. It adds advanced sound design features, more sound sources and additional presets.
CUBE Upgrade from CUBE Mini is intended for owners of the CUBE Mini instrument who want to move to the full version of CUBE. CUBE Mini already offers presets, a 3D interface and effects. The upgrade adds a larger set of sound sources, advanced modulation and orbit-based sound shaping. It is available as VST2, AU, AAX and Standalone for Windows and macOS.
The upgrade brings in over 70 new sound sources, which Lunacy describes as sampled instruments with multiple dynamic layers. The collection includes analog-style synths, pads, percussion hits, strings and keys.
It also adds 380 new presets. Lunacy says these were created by its sound designers using what it calls cutting-edge processing techniques. Developer copy says the full version offers four times as many sound sources and presets as CUBE Mini.
The full version of CUBE includes four LFOs, a macro control and a modulation matrix for shaping sound. Orbit presets give you more than 50 starting points for slowly evolving textures or faster rhythmic pulses, and an orbit customizer lets you draw your own.
You can also drag and drop your own WAV or SFZ sample files and mix them with the factory sounds.
On macOS, the plugin supports macOS 10.9 and later, with Intel and M1 Apple Silicon processors, and is 64-bit only. On Windows, it supports Windows 7 and later, 64-bit only. Both platforms need at least 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended), 2 GB of free drive space and a stable internet connection for downloading and activating the product.
