03In depth

Vintage Synth Sounds and Character

Cinematique Instruments presents Colors: Vintage Synth as a set of classic synthesizer voices rather than a single generic patch bank. The developer says the instrument covers most of the iconic models it lists, with the Yamaha CS60, Prophet 5, Minimoog and Macromoog, Roland Juno 60, JX3P, Model 101 and RS06 among them.

The main appeal, according to the developer, is the warm vintage flavour that these synthesizers are known for. Cinematique Instruments says that character is audible right away when you play the instrument, without a long setup process.

Included 808 Drive Beat Machine

Colors: Vintage Synth comes with 808 Drive at no extra cost. It is a Kontakt Instrument and beat machine that contains both original and processed recordings of the Roland TR808 drum machine.

This gives producers a drum element alongside the synth sounds within the same Kontakt-based package.
