Vintage Chorus Sound and Character
BeatSkillz says Chorust takes its inspiration from classic hardware chorus units and updates that design with lo-fi and filter controls. The lo-fi parameters are aimed at sculpting spaciousness and depth, which the developer ties to the soft, silky chorus sound found on many 70s and 80s records.
The ladder filters are the main addition beyond a standard chorus. Ladder filters are known for a smooth, musical response, and here they let you change the timbre and frequency content of the signal. That gives the effect a more colored, vintage quality than a clean modulation effect.
