C6 Multiband Compressor: Six-Band Dynamics Plugin by Waves

C6 splits the signal into six frequency bands, four fixed crossover bands and two floating bands. You can customize the crossover frequencies and slopes, from gentle to steep, which determines how cleanly each band is separated from its neighbors.

Each band offers four types of dynamics processing, including compression, expansion, upward expansion and limiting, along with dynamic EQ behavior. Individual solo and bypass buttons for each band make it easier to isolate the material you are working on, and a variable knee control shapes how the processing engages around the threshold.

Three release options cover smooth, fast and automatic behavior, so you can match the response to the material.

Sidechain processing can be set internal or external for each band. A sidechain input can lock the dynamics processing of one band to another track, which is useful for keeping a bass or vocal balanced against a reference signal.

Analog circuitry modeling adds a warm sonic character to the processing. The plugin ships with more than 50 presets by top mixing engineers, which give you a starting point for common tasks before you adjust the bands yourself.

The developer positions C6 for a wide range of sources, including masters, drums, synthesizers, heavy guitar and piano.
