Blue Cat's PolyVibe is built on the designs of vintage vibe pedals and extends them for modern production. The plugin can simulate several kinds of modulation effect, including chorus, phaser, rotary and wah or vocal-style sounds, while keeping the characteristic vintage flavour of vibe pedals. Its extensions make it usable on any instrument, including the human voice, not only guitar. Blue Cat Audio also adds a stereo vibe mode, which the developer notes is uncommon among pedals that remain mono.

Vibe Tones, Filter Modes and Stereo Width

PolyVibe starts from the original vibe filter designs and lets you control their shape and motion in detail. Three filter modes are available: classic, reverse and phase. Together they allow you to move beyond the standard vibe sound and build new modulation effects.

A stereo width control shapes how the effect spreads across the stereo field. Because the plugin can produce stereo vibe effects, it can be used to widen sources that would sound narrow with a mono pedal.

The Tone Maps explorer is included to help you browse existing presets and shape new tones more quickly than tweaking every parameter from scratch.

Timing, Control and Workflow

The LFO can be synchronized to your host application's tempo, so modulation stays locked to the project. A swing control adjusts the feel of the oscillator to fit a groove.

For performance and automation, the effect can be controlled through host automation or a MIDI expression pedal. Full MIDI control, automation support and MIDI Learn are included.

The interface can be resized with zoom and set to a transparent look. Smooth bypass avoids clicks when the plugin is switched on or off, and copy and paste of the plugin state works between instances. The integrated presets manager, undo and redo, and support for any sample rate round out the workflow.
