BioTek 3: Synth Plugin by Tracktion with Easy Macro Page

BioTek 3 offers standard waveforms and noise alongside a sampler, a granular oscillator and a Spinal Saw oscillator. The developer says the Spinal Saw provides up to 44 oscillators per voice. Combined with unison of up to 16 voices and layering, the instrument can build very dense patches.

Filtering includes the newly added Transistor Ladder and Sallen-Key types. Four effect slots per voice can hold any of nine effects, so you can add depth, texture and movement within each voice.

The Easy page is designed for one-page parameter assignment, so you can promote the controls you use most. Any macro exposed on the Easy page appears in your DAW automation list, which makes it simpler to automate sound-shaping changes.

The importing system for your own samples is also updated, letting you build a custom instrument and promote its parameters to the main macro page.

BioTek 3 includes more than 300 new presets from several sound designers, bringing the factory total to over 800. Categories cover cinematic atmospheres, ambient textures, pads, keys, basses and warped percussion. The developer notes that preset tagging makes browsing faster.

Genre-specific expansions are sold separately for styles such as deep house and techno.
