How Bass Focus Enhances Low End
Bass Focus generates harmonics that sit higher in frequency than the original bass but are perceived as part of the same sound. The developer explains that this tricks the ear into hearing the low frequencies as louder and fuller than they are. The effect still works when the fundamental bass frequency is not reproduced, which is why bass can stay audible on smaller speakers.
The harmonic generation is independent of input level, so the enhancement does not simply follow how hard the signal is driven. This makes it a different approach from standard saturation.
