Sound Design With Layers and Saturation

Analog Tales 2 uses a 4+1 layer Kontakt engine with 40 sound sources. Each layer can be shaped with channel-level effects for dimension, reverb and delay, as well as custom LFO modulation and EQ.

The Thermo Control feature adds vintage overdrive to the top two sound layers. Karanyi Sounds describes it as a way to move keys, leads, pads and basses from mellow to overdriven, which suits distorted basses and gritty sequences.

For mixing, master effects include a filter, EQ, compressor and limiter. Studio-grade hardware effect processors are used in processing the sounds.

Arpeggiator and Smart Random Control

The built-in Analog Arp comes with 20 presets and gives control over speed, gate and swing in the editor screen. It can add a subtle rhythmic element or reshape a sound.

Smart Random Control is the developer's most advanced randomizer. A single control adjusts many parameters at once, including ADSRs, filters, movement, depth and space, which helps when you want fresh starting points for a patch.
