Ambient Minimalism 2: The Dark Side is the darker counterpart to the original Ambient Minimalism, built by Big Fish Audio with Funk/Soul Productions. It is designed for producers who want quick access to eerie textures, dissonant motifs and rhythmic elements. The library contains 44 patches organized into Tonal, Experimental, Melodic and Rhythmic categories, with more than 2,500 loops, phrases, one-shots and samples to draw from.

Sound Character and Instrument Palette

Dark pianos, upright bass, Wurlitzer, detuned glass and ominous horns make up the core of the library. Eleven of the patches are chromatic instruments, so they can be played across the keyboard. The rest are loops, effects and one-shots designed to layer into a track.

Big Fish Audio recorded most patches in the same key or designed them to work alongside dissonant material. This means patches can be mixed and matched while keeping results musical.

Workflow, Key Switching and Multis

Twelve red key-switches change the key of any patch or musical element, including loops and pads. This lets you build chord progressions or modulations without re-recording or re-editing the material.

The instrument also includes 36 Multis, which combine patches into layered sound combinations. Komplete Kontrol and Maschine integration gives access to the interface through NKS-compatible hardware controls.
