Hybrid Analog and FM Sounds

The core idea of VCFM is the mix of two sound sources. Analog-style waveforms sampled from real voltage-controlled oscillators are layered with pure FM tones, so the presets keep the character of analog hardware while retaining the precision and brightness of FM.

Tracktion describes the results as lush, organic evolving pads, deep and punchy basses, and glassy arpeggios. The pack also includes hybrid 808 and 909 drum kits for users who want a familiar drum character with an FM edge.

Where VCFM Fits in a Production

The developer positions the sounds as a good fit for dance-oriented music, and the presets suit genres built around pads, basses and arpeggios. The pack is also presented as versatile enough for other styles, so it can work beyond dance music.

Because VCFM is a set of presets for F.'em, it is a starting point rather than a separate instrument. Producers who already use F.'em can load the presets directly and adjust them to suit a track.
