SubLab XL Sound Pack: Drill Subs for Drill Bass

Future Audio Workshop built the pack around 13 sub and 808 patches, each with its own flavour. Names such as Brooklyn Smoke, Caustic, Jungle Drill, LNDN, Makita Drill and Sulfuric point to the range of tones on offer, from heavier and more distorted sounds to patches with a different sub shape.

The developer says the patches are layered and distorted, and several are designed around glide behavior. Some patches, such as No Glide Notes, are set up without glide, so you can choose the movement that suits your pattern.

Since the patches are set up as track-ready subs, the pack works as a fast source of 808 and sub bass ideas for drill beats. You can audition the patches against your kick and drum pattern, then adjust the parameters to match the key, the groove and the rest of the mix.

The pack is a sound pack for SubLab XL rather than a standalone instrument, so the sound design and controls come from the synth. Use it when you want a head start on the low end and then refine the result in your own session.
