01Overview

Orchestral French Horn 1 is built for Instrument X, the modeling engine Dreamtonics uses to render orchestral instruments inside your DAW or as a standalone app. The expansion focuses on the horn's expressive range, from bold passages to quiet, introspective lines. Rendering runs entirely on your computer, so no internet connection is needed. It works with notation input, including MusicXML files, and can be used alongside other Instrument Expansions for full orchestral arrangements.

Performance Control and Articulations

The Unified Articulation Editor brings articulations into one interface, so you can manage performance techniques without switching between separate instrument patches. Articulations can be stacked and combined on a single note, which allows hybrid textures that are hard to build from static sample playback.

Predictive dynamics assign dynamics based on pitch, note duration and performance flow. A manual override lane lets you shape the result when you want direct control over the phrasing.

Retakes, Voices and Workflow

AI Retakes generate alternative performance takes for specific phrases, either for a whole section or for individual parameters such as timbre, micro-pitch and intensity. This is useful when a line is not working and you want a different realization without rewriting the notes.

Unison supports up to 16 voices, which can turn a single soloist into a section. MusicXML import brings tempos, time signatures, articulations and dynamics into the session. Each instrument takes about 160 MB of storage, and ARA is supported in compatible DAWs.
