01Overview

Orchestral Bassoon 1 is built for producers working with orchestral arrangements who want a bassoon voice that responds to notes and expression. It runs on the Instrument X engine, which renders performance detail such as legato transitions and breath-like swells in real time rather than triggering static audio files. Dreamtonics says the expansion shapes each phrase with the nuance of a performer reading from a score. It is a good fit for woodwind lines, inner harmonies and full orchestral mockups.

Bassoon Articulations and Dynamics on Instrument X

The Unified Articulation Editor lets you manage performance techniques and articulations in one interface, and you can stack and combine articulations on a single note. Predictive dynamics map dynamics across your arrangement based on pitch, note duration and performance flow, with a manual override lane for direct control.

Automatic Smart Articulation handles part of the work up front, so you can start with a musical result and refine from there. The combination of automatic and manual control suits both quick sketches and detailed parts.

Notation Import, Retakes and Unison Voicing

MusicXML support lets you bring notation from other programs into the project, and the developer notes that tempos, time signatures, articulations and dynamics translate into performance data on import. AI Retakes generate alternative performances for a phrase, so you can re-roll a whole section or adjust specific elements.

Unison can stack up to 16 voices, which turns a single soloist into a section. Rendering happens entirely on your computer, so no internet connection is needed during use.
