This expansion extends the KHORDS sound library with a darker, more aggressive palette. The 50 synth sounds include menacing textures, synthetic soundscapes, aggressive basses and experimental effects. The 100 presets are organized into stabs, basses, leads, rhythmic patches, synths, atmospheres and SFX. Loopmasters Plugins says the material suits Drum & Bass, Dubstep and Trap, among other styles. It requires a copy of KHORDS version 1.0.4 or higher.

Sound Character and Contents

The waveforms are split into two groups: 30 minor-feel chord sounds and 20 root or open-note sounds. Chord sounds suit stabs and pads built on minor harmony, while the root and open-note sounds fit basslines and single-note lines.

Loopmasters Plugins describes the sound as dark and twisted, with piercing synths and dark atmospheres. The developer also notes that the presets were designed by Proxima, a producer the company calls legendary.

Preset Categories for Dark Production

The 100 presets break down into 19 stabs, 8 basses, 14 leads, 8 rhythmic patches, 8 synths, 20 atmospheres and 23 SFX patches. That split makes it straightforward to find a starting point for a specific element of a track.

Because the bass, stab and lead categories are large, the pack can cover a full arrangement of a dark track, from rhythmic hooks to ambient beds and transition effects, all within KHORDS.
