Haunted Nostalgia | Grainferno Expansion Pack is a preset expansion for the Grainferno instrument from Baby Audio, containing 64 presets built around worn tape, analog haze and drifting atmospheres. Grainferno is required to use it.
Haunted Nostalgia is an expansion pack that extends Grainferno with 64 presets aimed at hazy, memory-like textures. Baby Audio describes the sound as worn tape and quietly shifting atmospheres, with deep drones, soft textures and faded melodic leads. The developer says the pack is inspired by the sound of Boards of Canada. Because it is a preset pack rather than a standalone instrument, it depends entirely on Grainferno being installed. The presets are a starting point for ambient and downtempo sound design.
The presets focus on atmosphere rather than conventional synth patches. Baby Audio says the collection leans into analog haze and a sense of distance, as if the sounds are recalled rather than played live.
The pack includes deep drones, soft textures and faded melodic leads. Baby Audio says each preset carries a final gloss of what it calls uncanny inertia, giving the sounds a slow, drifting quality.
Haunted Nostalgia is built for Grainferno and cannot be loaded into another instrument. Its 64 presets give you a set of starting points for ambient and downtempo work, and you can adjust them within Grainferno to suit your track.
Because the presets are organized as a themed collection, they work well when you want a consistent texture across a whole project.
