01Overview

Wavemeister 2 is built around two independent wavetable engines and a sub oscillator, so it can produce a wide range of sounds. Loot Audio describes its range as everything from raw and noisy to crystal clear. It ships with 34 factory wavetables and can import your own WAV and AIF files at any sample rate, as well as Serum wavetables. The instrument includes two 12 dB filters, Chord Memory and an arpeggiator, and it runs on the Kontakt platform.

Sound Design Engines and Wavetable Control

Each of the two wavetable engines can be shaped with realtime controls and envelopes for wavetable position and warping. Realtime 3D and 2D wavetable displays show what the oscillators are doing as you edit.

The Sub Oscillator offers 20 basic waveforms, and octave, semitone and finetune controls let you tune each layer. Two independent LFOs can modulate wavetable position, pulse width, filter, pitch and pan, which gives you a lot of room for movement without leaving the instrument.

Imported wavetables are handled through drag and drop, so custom tables can sit alongside the factory set.

Filters, Performance and Onboard Effects

The instrument includes a 12 dB low pass ladder filter and a 12 dB high pass ladder filter. You can switch between polyphonic and monophonic playing and set portamento for glides.

Chord Memory and an arpeggiator help with melodic and rhythmic ideas, while velocity control and keyboard volume balance shape how the instrument responds to playing.

Onboard effects include Reverb, Replika, Lo-Fi, Choral, Phasis, Flair, Drive (Van 51) and Comp (Supercharger GT). The package also includes 100 Kontakt snapshots to store and recall settings.
