Sound Design with the Volt Meter and Dual Layers
Volt II's central control is the Volt Meter, a dial that can drive most of the front panel controls from a single movement. You choose which controls it affects and set the depth or range for each. You can also assign it to your mod wheel or another external controller, which makes it a practical macro for automating parameters on the fly.
Each patch uses two layers, and each layer has 58 sound sources, so you can blend two sources into one sound. Every layer offers 40 filter types, individual ADSR envelopes for volume, filter and resonance, and a filter LFO with depth, speed and sync controls and five LFO shapes. Effects include chorus, phaser, flanger, bit crush, delay and distortion, plus a convolution reverb with 10 impulse responses.
Clicking the Volt logo randomizes all settings, which is useful when you want unexpected starting points.
