Sound Range and Character in Volt

The library covers a wide range of sound types. Pads and strings sit alongside atmospheric synth textures, basses, leads and arpeggiated synths. Abstract effects and textures add a further layer for experimental work.

Loot Audio says the presets were designed to be versatile enough for ambient, abstract, chill-out and EDM production. The developer also highlights breakdowns for club tracks. Film scoring is another stated use, with the developer noting that a full cinematic soundtrack could be built from these sounds.

Working With the Volt Meter

The Volt Meter is the main control on the interface. You select which front-panel controls it should move, then set the depth or range for each one. Once assigned, the meter sweeps those dials together.

The Volt Meter can also be assigned to a mod wheel or another external controller, so one gesture can control many dials. Most of the included snapshots are already set up to respond to it. Clicking the Volt symbol in the centre of the interface randomises patches, which is useful when you want unexpected results.
