01Overview

VIBE is UJAM's electric piano instrument within the Virtual Pianist line. It is based on recordings of a hand-picked 1972 vintage electric piano and is designed for warm, mellow tones with a bright, bell-like attack when needed. Users can play it freely in Instrument mode or let it generate rhythmic parts, accompaniments and simple solo passages in Player mode. It runs as a plugin in VST3, VST2, AU and AAX formats on Windows and macOS.

Electric Piano Sound and Character

VIBE is modeled on a 1972 vintage electric piano. UJAM describes its tone as warm and mellow with a smooth, vibrant character. The Character presets switch between aesthetics: the warm, mellow settings suit jazz, funk and soul, while the brighter, barkier settings fit hip-hop, rock and EDM.

The plugin also includes 45 Finisher Multi-Effect Modes and 45 Ambience FX Presets made specifically for VIBE. Combined with the Character presets, they give a wide range of electric piano sounds.

Player Mode, Key Setting and Workflow

In Player mode, VIBE plays phrases and harmonies for you. Its 40 styles can be triggered and adjusted, and the player key range, busyness control and variations shape each performance. Setting the key of your song lets the Player mode produce more varied, custom-tailored phrases and harmonies.

MIDI Drag & Drop lets you move the player's MIDI into other instruments, so you can use it alongside your existing setup. VIBE also works with the companion plugins Virtual Bassist DANDY and Finisher RETRO.

What do I need to use VIBE?

VIBE requires the latest version of the UJAM App, which also installs the Virtual Pianist plugin frame that hosts VIBE. You need at least 8 GB of RAM, 1.83 GB of free disk space, a 1280 x 768 display and an internet connection for download and authorization.

Do I need piano skills to use VIBE?

No. UJAM says VIBE is designed so you can create grooves and phrases without piano skills, and Player mode can play parts for you. Experienced players can also play it freely in Instrument mode.
