Drum Sounds and Built-In Grooves

VICE ships with 10 drum kits and 20 styles containing 460 MIDI loops. The styles are organized by genre and mood, so you can audition a groove and load it without programming each hit. The sample grid lets you swap, preview and shape individual sounds such as kick, snare and hi-hat.

The mixing page gives control over each track, including volume, pan, filter, ambience, saturation and individual output routing. Mix presets are included for quick polishing of a beat.

Workflow and Performance Features

The intelligent browser lets you filter by tags such as mood, genre or BPM. A custom keyboard layout allows you to assign loops and phrases to keys and trigger grooves in real time. A Time Machine control is also included.

MIDI can be dragged from the plugin straight into your DAW, where you can edit it or layer it with your own instruments.

VICE is available in VST3, VST2, AU and AAX formats. All plugin formats are 64-bit only.

Which operating systems are supported?

VICE runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11, and on macOS Catalina (10.15) through macOS Monterey (12.5). It is supported on both Intel and Apple silicon Macs.

What do I need to run VICE?

VICE requires 4 GB of RAM, 720 MB of free disk space, a 1280x768 pixel display and an internet connection. Authorization is done with an email and password, either within the plugin or the UJAM app.
