Vari-Amp is built for keyboardists, guitarists and producers who want warmth and analogue colour. Its dual-module design pairs a set of Rhodes preamps with a separate Amp and Mic section, and each module has its own dry/wet blend. That lets you move freely between clean and processed signal. Rhodes Preamps and Amp/Mic Sections

The preamp section includes six Rhodes circuits drawn from classic pianos, ranging from the MK1 '79 Suitcase through the Hot Rodded preamp to the MK8. Each model has its own EQ topology and harmonic response.

The Amp/Mic section offers eight amplifier models, including the DUO, 8015 Combo, L5, Rhodes Suitcase Cabinet, Rhodes Satellite, ACT PA and EXPR Combo, along with eight microphone models covering dynamic, condenser and ribbon types. Each amp and mic pairing can be blended with the dry signal and the preamp tone.

Drive, Dynamics and Global Processing

The three-mode Drive circuit is based on the MK8 preamp and extended with overdrive and saturation options. Developer Rhodes describes it as covering everything from subtle warmth to expressive distortion, with a continuously variable wet/dry control.
