Tube-Tech Complete Collection 2 is Softube's bundle of Tube-Tech processors, built in partnership with and endorsed by Tube-Tech. It includes the new SMC 2B three-band compressor, updated CL 1B Mk II and Classic Channel Mk II units, and Tube-Tech Equalizers Mk II. The package also adds legacy plugins for existing projects. It is also offered as an upgrade path for owners of Tube-Tech Compressor Collection.

Compressors and Equalizers in the Tube-Tech Collection

The bundle centers on the SMC 2B Multiband Compressor, which Softube describes as an emulation of a three-band opto compressor. The CL 1B Mk II is an optical compressor with a Generation Switch that toggles between the Mk I and Mk II sound. Classic Channel Mk II combines both CL 1B generations with PE 1C and ME 1B passive tube-driven equalizers.

The Equalizers Mk II set is Pultec-style, aimed at broad analog tone shaping on drums, synths, vocals, guitars, strings and bass.

Workflow Features: Mid/Side, Parallel Blend and Console 1

Modern features include mid/side processing and, in the CL 1B, side-chain low-cut filters and parallel blend. Classic Channel gains mid/side processing, which allows separate compression or EQ of elements such as kick and snare versus overheads.

Tube-Tech CL 1B Mk II and Tube-Tech Equalizers Mk II work both as native plugins and inside Console 1.

What formats does Tube-Tech Complete Collection 2 support?

It is available in VST3, VST2, AU, AAX and RTAS formats. Softube recommends VST3, since some plugins have features not present in the older VST format.

Which operating systems are supported?

The bundle supports Windows and macOS. Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11 are listed, along with macOS Big Sur 11, Monterey 12 and Ventura 13. Apple silicon is supported natively.

What do I need to use this bundle?

You need an iLok account and a Softube account, plus a compatible AU, VST, VST3 or AAX host such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, Studio One or Reaper. Internet access is needed for downloading installers and managing licenses. The latest iLok License Manager is required and can be downloaded from ilok.com.

Does the collection include older Tube-Tech plugins?

Yes. It includes four legacy products: CL 1B Mk I, Classic Channel Mk I, PE 1C and ME 1B. Softube notes that some legacy products may be unsupported.
