Tension Drums: Metallic Percussion Kontakt Instruments by Loot Audio

Kit 1 covers the original Derelict Collection sounds, recorded from old copper and silver mining equipment near Ennis, Montana. Loot Audio says the library sounds larger than its small size suggests, and the pitch control can push the hits from very big to very small.

Kit 2 extends Kit 1 with a new selection of metallic hits and effects. Tension Hits 2, the third instrument, focuses on loud impacts recorded from unconventional sources such as chairs, tubes, doors, sticks, metal shelves and candelabras. Loot Audio also recorded ensemble stomps on stage for larger, more epic impacts.

The Tension Hits 2 patches are multisampled rather than looped, and most feature four round-robin variations.

Kit 1 has an interface with a pitch knob, a three-band EQ with low, mid and high controls, a low-pass filter that is also mapped to the mod wheel, a grit knob for distortion, a reverb amount control and an attack knob.

The Tension Hits 2 interface adds attack, release, low, mid and high gain controls, along with pitch. A toggleable convolution reverb includes 13 selectable impulse responses. The recordings were made in a large hall built in the late 1800s, which gives the reverb a distinct character.
