Each SynthMaster 3 instance can hold up to 16 layers, and each layer can contain up to 16 modules, including generator modules such as basic, additive, vector, wavetable, VAnalog and granular oscillators, plus a range of filters and a waveshaper. Each layer can use up to 32 modulation sources, among them ADSR and multistage envelopes, LFOs, a step LFO, a noise LFO and a scaler.

The Routing tab shows the signal flow of a layer visually. Modules can be added, removed, bypassed or replaced, and connections can be created or removed between them. Three views (Layer, Track and Mix) let you edit single-layer parameters, keyboard and velocity zones, arpeggiator and sequencer settings, and insert and send effects across layers.

The granular oscillator applies granular synthesis to a single sample, multisample or wavetable. It offers up to 16 voices with up to 32 grains each, which means up to 512 grains per oscillator. Spread and randomization parameters control volume, pan, detune, position, grain length, grain start time and playback direction.

The VAnalog oscillator generates its waveform in real time using curve segments modeled on analog circuits. It has two wave shapes that can morph into each other, a sub oscillator with its own shape, and an oversampling quality setting to reduce aliasing.
