Synthetic Materials: Kontakt Synth Instrument by Loot Audio

Synthetic Materials offers two types of low pass filter, each with its own envelope and LFO, plus a drive effect with a dedicated envelope. Built-in effects include a 4-band EQ, stereo ping-pong delay, rotary, chorus, reverb and compression.

Pitch expression comes from a velocity threshold legato glide, vibrato and a pitch shifter inspired by effects pedals. The pitch shifter can add up to two extra notes per played note for octave or chord effects, with velocity scaling, automated pan and subtle detuning. Variable pitch and velocity drift adds analog-style instability to each note.

The step sequencer has up to 16 steps, with step lengths from a sixteenth note to 8 beats. Velocity and gate can be set per step, steps can be subdivided for ratcheting, and gates can overlap for glides. A/B options assign alternate pitches and probability-based bump or jump behavior, and shift automation transposes the sequence while staying in key through scale quantization.

User sample import uses the same sample zone mapping as the factory sounds. You can drag and drop audio files, adjust sample and loop points, and save custom instruments as snapshots to share with other users.
