01Overview

Synergenesis focuses on percussion. Loot Audio built it around sounds drawn from the GDS/Synergy II+, a digital synthesizer that the developer describes as capable of creating many percussive voices similar to, but not identical to, early drum machine sounds. The library includes 61 example instruments and 48 example layered multis, so you can audition sounds quickly and combine them in your own patches. It is built for Kontakt and does not run in the free Kontakt Player.

Synergy Percussion Sounds in Kontakt

The instrument set covers a broad range of percussive sounds. Loot Audio says the library captures a significant share of the drum patches from the original factory instrument library, which dates back to the early 1980s.

The drum sounds are arranged as two main drum kits and a series of sets. The sets are designed for previewing and for experimenting with filtering and dynamics on individual sounds. Several instruments can be played over separate MIDI channels at once. Users who want full control can remap the drum sets in Kontakt.

WAV Drum Samples for Other Samplers

Synergenesis also ships its drum sounds as 298 WAV files in 24-bit, 16-bit and 8-bit formats, all at a 44.1 kHz sample rate. The 24-bit files are the original samples, and the lower bit-depth versions sit in their own folders.

The WAV set is intended for software sample players and applications, as well as hardware samplers such as the MPC series. This makes the drum material usable outside Kontakt.
