01Overview

SLAP is built around bass playing rather than raw sample triggering. It combines slap and finger techniques in one instrument, so you can switch between playing styles or blend them in the same part. The plugin is driven by MIDI, and UJAM describes the bass as a modern, rhythmic performer suited to uptempo material. For producers who need convincing electric bass without recording a player, SLAP offers a faster route to finished lines.

Slap and finger bass styles in one plugin

SLAP includes 30 styles with more than 350 individual phrases, covering both slap and finger playing techniques. Its phrase library and MIDI-controlled input let you shape a bassline with a few notes and clicks rather than programming every articulation by hand.

UJAM says the bass is based on a Stingray with an active pickup system, aiming for a spirited but balanced tone. The developer positions SLAP as a strong fit for electric bass in pop, funk, jazz and rock, with highly rhythmical patterns and uptempo styles as its main strength.

Presets, effects and shaping the tone

SLAP ships with more than 100 presets and 30 Finisher multi-effect modes, so you can start from a finished sound and adjust from there. A custom Fuzz Box effect adds extra dirt when standard distortion is not enough.

MIDI drag and drop lets you move generated phrases into your DAW for further editing, which helps when you want to refine a line or pair it with other parts.
