Sound and Character of the Sequencer Drum Recreation
The original Sequencer Drum was a small metal box with one analog square oscillator, eight steps and a handful of controls. It was triggered by hitting its pad with a drumstick, which is how it got its first name.
Despite its toy-like appearance, the hardware could produce complex percussive patterns, deep basslines and roaming arpeggios across a tonal range of eight octaves. Sequencer One carries that sound over into software, so the focus stays on pitch, decay and rate rather than deep patch editing.
Because the design is deliberately minimal, the instrument suits producers who want a clear, characterful sequence source instead of a large synth with many layers.
