Runa: Elder Scoring Strings is a sample-based string instrument from Wavelet Audio. Its source sound is the traditional Kobyz, a bowed instrument that Wavelet Audio sampled and adapted for modern production. Sound, Harmonics and Articulations

Harmonics are a central feature of Runa. The instrument includes two keyswitches for hard and normal flageolets, and an auto-harmonics function that switches to normal harmonics after a set period of time.

The library offers eight articulations, including sustain in legato and poly forms, staccato, spiccato, harmonics, short, pizzicato, ricochet, tremolo and crescendo. Four legato types are included, along with multiple round robins and dynamic layers for more natural repetition.

Sequencer, FX Rack and Mic Controls

The built-in sequencer has five patterns and supports MIDI drag and drop to a DAW. Factory and user presets are available for sequences and the FX Rack. Snapshots are grouped into categories to speed up sound selection.

The FX Rack includes effects such as light saturation and cabinet simulation for more presence in a mix, or heavy distortion for aggressive textures. Microphone settings include a delay function that widens the stereo image when the mics are panned.
