PSI Toms: Kontakt Tom Drum Library by Loot Audio

The library includes five toms: a Premier floor tom at 18 inches, two Tama floor and rack toms at 16 and 12 inches, a Tama rack tom at 10 inches, and a Premier high tom at 8 inches. The floor tom at 16 inches and the high tom offer two tunings, labeled A and B.

Each drum was sampled with sticks, a soft beater, and an extra dampened version. The developer says the drums were recorded in a studio environment.

The library contains 2,252 samples in total, multisampled from four microphone positions: two close mics, overheads, and room.

The interface gives you direct control over the blend of the four microphone positions. From there you can filter, tune and pan each drum in the kit.

That makes it possible to shape a tom set for different genres by changing how close or roomy each drum sounds, and how it sits in the stereo field.

The developer lists the microphones and preamps used for each position, including Telefunken M82 and Sennheiser MD421 for the close mics, AKG 414 BULS for the overheads, and Neumann KM184 for the room.
