01Overview

Presser is a compressor developed with producer Aiden Kenway, known for his FL Studio song deconstruction tutorials. Beyond conventional dynamics controls, it includes the Glue, Punch and Heat dials, which change how the compressor reacts and add saturation before and after the compression stage. It also offers an advanced detector section, flexible compression stages, a limiter and parallel mixing. The interface is resizable, and the plugin includes artist-curated factory presets that give you a starting point for different sources.

Sound Character: Glue, Punch and Heat

The Glue control changes the behavior of the compressor's detector and processor. At 0%, the plugin acts as a fast peak compressor that tames transients. Toward 100%, it behaves more like a classic bus compressor, with more sustained gain changes and a smoother sound.

Punch uses a built-in dynamic equalizer to bring out transient attack, which can make kicks, snares and basslines snappier. Heat adds analog-style saturation before and after the compressor, adding harmonics and coloration from subtle warmth to gritty overdrive.

Detector Options and Compression Workflow

Channel Link lets you process the stereo channels independently or together, which helps you either preserve the stereo image or treat each side differently. The High-Pass control filters the detection signal, which can reduce audible pumping on gentler settings.

The sidechain control is variable from 0% (normal compression) to 100% (sidechain input only), so you can blend standard compression with external triggering. Standard Ratio, Threshold, Attack, Release and Makeup Gain controls are included, along with a MIX control for parallel compression, a Limiter button and a bypass that is smoothed to avoid clicks and pops. Live meters show what happens at each stage of the chain.
