01Overview

Origins Bundle Vol. 6-10 focuses on plucked and strummed string instruments from around the world, including the Tar, Chonguri, Fado guitar, Cavaquinho, Ronroco, Bouzouki, Contrabass Panduri and Tanbur. The instruments are grouped into five pairs, and each pair is shaped by the Multi-Arpeggio-Designer, which generates two linked arpeggios. Each instrument is also available as a solo Kontakt instrument. The bundle runs only in the full version of Kontakt, since the free Kontakt Player operates in demo mode.

Instrument Pairs and Arpeggio Engine

Each pair in the bundle combines two instruments with separate arpeggiators. Sonuscore says the Multi-Arpeggio-Designer is built to imitate a human performance rather than matching notes mechanically. The bundle includes more than 100 presets, and you can also build your own patterns.

Arpeggio designs can be copied between Origins products, so a pattern created in one pair can be used in another. The 12 color presets are built from impulse responses and effects settings, and Sonuscore states they allow more than 1,200 combinations when mixed with the pairs.

Sixth to Tenth Couples and Solo Instruments

The sixth couple pairs muted guitar with harmonics, recorded by composer Mats Lundgren. The seventh couple combines the Tar, a plucked Persian lute, with the Chonguri, a Georgian instrument with silk strings. The eighth couple pairs Fado guitar with Cavaquinho, and the ninth combines the Ronroco, an Andean double-strung instrument, with the Bouzouki. The tenth couple features the Contrabass Panduri and Tanbur.

Because all ten instruments are also included as solo NKI instruments, you can use them individually when a pair is more than you need.

05FAQ

Questions, answered

Do I need Kontakt to use Origins Bundle Vol. 6-10?

Yes. The bundle requires the full version of Native Instruments' Kontakt 6, version 6.7.1 or higher. The free Kontakt Player is not sufficient because it runs instruments in demo mode.

Which operating systems does Origins Bundle Vol. 6-10 support?

It runs on Windows 10 or 11 and on macOS, including Intel Macs running macOS 10.14 through 12 and Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 11 or 12 via Rosetta 2 or natively.

Can I use the instruments outside the pairs?

Yes. Each of the ten instruments is included as a solo NKI instrument in addition to the five paired combinations.
