01Overview

Organica from Loot Audio is a Kontakt instrument built around tonal textures blended with wide-stereo field recordings. Its patches are organized into solo pads, duo combinations of two pads, and trio layouts that pair two field recording layers with a pad. The multis combine pads and low-mapped fields, which the developer suggests can be used for dronish soundscapes and underscores. The library uses the Photosynthesis Engine.

Pads, Fields and Layered Atmospheres

The library is organized into three groups. Solo patches give you single pads. Duo patches combine two pads, and trio patches pair two field recording layers with a pad that fades in as you raise the mod wheel.

The multis are the most flexible part of the set. They blend pads with fields mapped to the lower keys, which gives you a ready-made layered texture to play from a single keyboard range.

Mod Wheel Control and Reverb Behavior

The mod wheel is assigned to all patches. According to Loot Audio, it makes the pads pulse in sync with the host tempo and adds a large reverb to the field recordings.

Because the same control shapes both the rhythmic pad movement and the reverb on the fields, you can move from a static bed to a pulsing, more open texture during a performance or arrangement without switching patches.
