Sound Generators and Sequencing
Obscurium uses two sound sources. The first emulates an analogue oscillator with unison, offering saw, pulse and supersaw shapes. The second uses FM synthesis with an adjustable ratio. Both can pass through the effect section and be mixed and modulated from the sequencer.
The Super Obscure Mode draws sequences automatically in a variety of ways. The Modifiers set all parameters at once, and you can also define the sound of individual steps. Sequencer steps can be assigned to MIDI notes, and playback speed and direction can change over time, with an Obscure Clock tab controlling master speed, swing and direction.
Developer Sugar Bytes describes the sequencer as capable of producing tumbling rhythms, rolls and triplets.
