Sound Design Tools for Cinematic and Textural Sounds
Sugar Bytes describes Aparillo as a textural synthesizer aimed at large, evolving sounds. The synth section offers FM complexity and ratio modes, waveshaping, folding and formant shifting. A modulatable scale editor sets up unison spreads and harmonic structures across the 16 voices.
The effects section can act as a sound source in its own right. The Spacializer is a delay-based pitch resonator that can generate an additional synth layer through wave-guide synthesis. The multi-mode filter includes Comb and Vowel modes, along with a Dirt HP/BP/LP mode for spectral grit. Poly-Autopan, tempo-synced delay and reverb round out the effects.
