Loot Audio says every string patch can be played in either Sustain or Tremolo mode. Expression is controlled with the modulation wheel, which gives you a direct way to add swell and movement while playing.

Each instrument carries its own panning, expression and envelope settings, so the solo and section sounds can be balanced independently.

Each section offers up to nine effects and modulators. The developer lists two LFOs, reverb and delay among them, which lets you add motion and space without loading separate processing.

Because the modules are split into distinct sections, you can build a layered string arrangement from solo lines through to cello and bass textures.

Loot Audio notes that Nuage is not especially convenient for fast, large orchestral productions. It is better suited to slower, intimate and experimental writing, where long, expressive string lines and ambient textures are the focus.
