NOVO Solo Textures: Solo String Kontakt Instrument by Heavyocity

The library is built from solo violin, viola and cello performances. Heavyocity recorded these parts with multiple dynamic layers and multi-sampled them to preserve nuance across the dynamic range. The collection includes more than 14 GB of rhythmic elements, which gives the sound a moving, textural quality.

Because the source is solo rather than ensemble, the strings sound more exposed and individual. Developer copy describes the articulations as unique to the Heavyocity team, and the arrangements as expanding what a solo string can do in a track.

Solo Textures ships with over 220 snapshot presets. These are intended as starting points that show the voice of each instrument in a finished context. Snapshots can be loaded directly or used as a base for your own sound.

The developer notes that composers can build custom ensembles from the solo sounds. Layering several instances or combining parts lets you move from a single voice to a fuller string texture while keeping the solo character.
