NOVO Modern Strings: Deeply-Sampled Orchestral Strings Instrument by Heavyocity

The core of NOVO is six traditional sections: violin, viola, cello, bass, a high ensemble and a low ensemble. The library includes 21,254 samples and 38 GB of uncompressed content, or about 25 GB on disk with Native Instruments lossless compression.

The String Designer and Loop Designer take the sampled sources further. Heavyocity positions the instrument as a bridge between orchestral strings and its signature sound design, which suits hybrid film, game and television scoring.

The instrument includes 308 snapshot presets, 57 NKAs and 8 NKIs, and it is Komplete Kontrol integrated and NKS-ready.

CYCLE is a dynamic playback engine for rhythmic pulses, swells, stutters and glitch effects, as well as granular-style pads for ambient drones and textures. It can add slight motion to a sustained pad or transform a sound entirely. Up to eight patterns can be chained together for longer sequences.

The MACRO knob sits at the front of the String Designer and Loop Designer. It can be assigned to multiple parameters per channel, including volume, pan, EQ, envelope and effects. The MACRO sequencer can program swells and stutters, and each preset ships with its own knob assignments.

The Loop Designer includes over 400 loops across three channels, with independent control over volume, pan, tuning and start point for each channel.
