01Overview

MininnDrum2 is the second version of Audio Blast's drum machine, inspired by Linn drum computers. Audio Blast describes it as an expansion of the original Mininn Drum with a built-in step sequencer and an updated workflow. Its three drum sound ROMs are based on classic Linn-era and 80s digital drum tones. The plugin is available in VST2, AU, AAX and CLAP formats for Windows, macOS and Linux.

Vintage Drum Sounds and Sequencing Workflow

The plugin is built around three sound ROMs. ROM 1 draws on the LM-1 and LM-2 drum machines, ROM 2 is based on the sound character of the Linn 9000, and ROM 3 is a selection of 80s drum sounds chosen by Audio Blast.

The built-in sequencer offers a 16-step pattern editor with up to 32 patterns per preset. Velocity can be set per step, and a shuffle control adds groove. Beats can be sketched directly inside the plugin without creating MIDI clips in your DAW.

Presets, Custom Samples and Mixing

MininnDrum2 includes 128 rhythm presets grouped into styles such as Break, Disco, Fusion, 60s Grooves, Hip Hop, House, Jazz Rock, Latin Rock, Misc and Fills. You can use them as they are or edit them with the sequencer.

The Custom Pad loads your own WAV or AIFF samples, which can be saved inside presets for portable kits. Each sound has individual volume, tuning, pan and velocity sensitivity controls in the mixer.
