Drum Blaster is a drum machine and sampler plugin by Audio Blast with 16 independent channel strips, 11 FX processors and a library of more than 4000 drum samples and 200 presets.
Drum Blaster is built around drum programming. Each of its 16 channel strips can load, trigger and shape its own sample, with controls for tuning, panning, volume, mute and solo, plus multi-output routing for separate processing in a host. A sample randomizer pulls sounds from several folders at once, and a Random section can generate complete drum kits in one click. The plugin ships with a sound library of over 4000 drum samples and 200 genre-focused presets, plus 100 MIDI files.
Every channel strip includes three FX slots, giving access to 11 processors in total. These cover filters, reverb, SynthVerb, flanger, chorus, phaser and delay, along with four distortion types: Rage Clip, 4-Band Fuzz, Disto Fuzz and Overdrive.
The sample editor lets you trim, zoom, anti-alias and fine-tune samples against a waveform display, so you can adjust each hit before it reaches the mix.
The sound library contains over 4000 drum samples, including sounds taken from well-known drum machines. Audio Blast says the samples were recorded through a Neve VR32 console using outboard gear such as Distressors, Pultec EQs and Manley processors, and produced at Oasis Studio on Réunion Island.
The 200 presets are organized by genre, and the collection is aimed at producers working in techno, house, hip-hop, trap, EDM, dub and breaks.
