Loudness history and measurements

The history plot is the main display. It shows loudness over time and can record up to 24 hours of history, so you can locate loud commercials, quiet dialogue or other sections that need adjustment.

The plot shows momentary, short-term and integrated loudness. LCAST Surround also includes a custom loudness variance measurement, which gives an indication of how dynamic the audio is. Each measurement can be switched on or off, so you can focus on the readings that matter for your project.

True-peak metering and surround support

The true-peak meters detect inter-sample peaks by oversampling the signal internally and interpolating between samples. This catches overloads that standard peak meters can miss, and overload indicators flag them when they occur.

LCAST Surround handles mono, stereo and 5.1 surround material. Loudness gating and custom color regions are included, and the plugin can log measurements. Developer MeterPlugs also offers LCAST for the same workflows without the surround option.
