01Overview

Idol focuses on the bright, hyper-processed drum sound associated with K-Pop. It bundles 10 drum kits with 16 instruments each, 20 styles and 23 ready-made patterns per style. UJAM says the samples are already trimmed and tightly released, so you can start with a pattern instead of editing hits by hand. The MIDI patterns can be dragged straight into your DAW, and the plugin syncs to your project tempo.

Sound, Character and the Juice Control

UJAM describes K-Pop drums as bright and polished, with punchy kicks and snares and carefully compressed low and high ends. Idol aims to capture that sound, drawing on hip hop, R&B, American and European pop, and traditional Korean instruments.

The Juice control is Idol's dedicated processing stage. It uses multiband compression and EQ to punch up the lows and highs, and adds a gentle stereo spread. A Mix setting section offers 12 mix presets with an Amount knob to set how much processing is applied.

Patterns, MIDI Workflow and Requirements

Idol includes 460 patterns across 20 styles, covering 4-to-the-floor kicks, breakbeats and rolled trap hi hats. You can use presets as they are or edit the MIDI grooves to build your own rhythms.

MIDI loops can be exported to your DAW from the on-screen keyboard. The plugin runs on Windows 10 or 11 and macOS Catalina (10.15) through Monterey (12.5), with support for Intel and Apple silicon Macs. It requires 4 GB of RAM, 720 MB of free disk space, a 1280x768 display and an internet connection for authorization.
