Feedback Chorus: Juno-60-Inspired Stereo Chorus Plugin by Épica Audio

Feedback Chorus is a stereo chorus plugin from Épica Audio, inspired by the Roland Juno-60. It adds a feedback control that routes the modulated signal back into itself, extending the effect from classic chorus warmth to dense, resonant textures.

01Overview

Feedback Chorus is built around a bucket-brigade device (BBD) delay line, the same analog technology used in the Roland Juno-60. Rate and Depth shape the modulation as the original hardware does. The plugin adds a feedback path that the Juno-60 never had, so the same chorus can move from subtle thickening to metallic, self-generating textures. It works on guitars, bass, vocals, synths and sound design sources.

Analog-Style Chorus Sound and Modulation

The core of Feedback Chorus is a faithful model of the Juno-60 chorus circuit. Developer Épica Audio describes the BBD delay line as producing the warmth and gentle non-linearity of a real BBD chain.

Rate and Depth control the modulating LFO. Rate is limited to slow sweeps from 0 to 1.2 Hz, in keeping with the original Juno-60. Depth sets the intensity of pitch modulation and the stereo movement that results. A slow Rate combined with high Depth produces a wide, vibrato-like motion.

Feedback Control and Global Settings

The Feedback control ranges from 0 to 100% and routes part of the BBD output back into its input. At 0%, the plugin behaves like a classic Juno-inspired chorus. Higher settings compound the effect into dense, resonant textures that come close to flanging.

The Input knob sets how much signal drives the BBD and feedback loop. This matters at high Feedback settings, where input level affects how strongly the loop builds, and it can be used to tame or push self-oscillation. A true bypass lets the signal pass through unaffected.
