Sound Design and Layer Structure
The instrument is built on the Fabric sound engine, a multi-sample synthesis platform that AIR uses across its instruments. Each sound uses two multi-sample layer oscillators plus one percussive layer.
Each layer has its own filter, envelope and LFO controls, so you can shape the attack, movement and tone of every part separately. Stacking layers and voices is the main route to the dense, moving textures the developer highlights.
The Fabric engine also keeps a consistent user interface and modulation architecture across AIR instruments, which makes it easier to move between them.
