01Overview

Ethnic Drum Ensembles Collection is a Kontakt library that gathers six percussion ensembles in one instrument. Each ensemble combines taikos, congas, djembes, darbukas, cajons, surdos and other hand drums. The library comes with 494 NKI presets, including kit presets and 466 loop presets, giving producers ready-made starting points as well as raw material to shape.

Ensemble Kits and Sound Control

The six ensembles are available as menu and single kit presets, so you can use the full ensemble or isolate individual drums. Heavyocity added 28 further kit presets with a more aggressive edge.

The interface offers global effects (reverb, delay, distortion and chorus modulation), per-drum EQ, per-channel ADSR, Trigger FX, and the Punish and Twist knobs. Punish adds saturation, distortion and compression, while Twist reshapes the character of the sound.

Tempo-Synced Loops and Loop Mutator

The library includes over 375 tempo-synced loops, now divided into straight and triplet groups. Loop Mutator lets you rearrange and adjust loops by slice in real time.

You can layer kits with hybrid loops to build dense percussion beds, or mix loop stems to assemble your own rhythms. Filter modulation, master effects and ADSR settings are available on the loops as well.
