How the frequency shifter works in the feedback loop
A frequency shifter adds a fixed amount of hertz to every frequency in the signal. Developer Sonic Charge gives a simple example: an overtone series at 100, 200 and 300 Hz shifted by 50 Hz becomes 150, 250 and 350 Hz. Because the spacing between partials stays the same while their pitch relationship breaks, the sound turns metallic and inharmonic.
Placing this shifter inside a delayed feedback loop means each repeat is shifted again. The echoes do not simply fade; they move up or down in the spectrum with every pass, which is the core of what Echobode does.
