Devil: Multi-Mode Distortion Plugin by Thenatan Audio

Devil groups its distortion into six modes. The lower end of the range is described as subtle warmth, which can add body to a sound without obvious damage. The upper end moves into extreme digital harshness for sounds that need to be pushed hard or broken up on purpose.

Because the modes span both gentle and aggressive settings, the plugin can be used at light levels on a sound that needs thickening or at full intensity for sound design. Resonance Sound would describe the aim as being able to thicken or completely destroy any audio signal, which covers both ends of that range.

Devil is built around a fast, intuitive interface intended for quick sound design. Its main use cases include synth parts, lead lines, 808 bass, kick drums and vocal tracks. Each of these sources responds differently to distortion, so switching between modes is a practical way to find the right character for each element.

The plugin supports 64-bit processing and runs in most major DAWs. It is not offered in AAX format for Pro Tools, so Pro Tools users should check the AU or VST3 options before purchase.
