01Overview

Damage Machina is a percussion instrument that draws its character from the mechanical world. Heavyocity developed it with sound designer Robert Dudzic, whose percussive work appears in many movie trailers and film scores. The library runs on the Damage 2 engine and is built around more than 9,000 samples and 700 unique sources, including 280+ loops. It is aimed at composers and producers who want rhythmic textures that sit outside conventional drum kits.

03In depth

Sound Sources and Sample Content

The library is built from recordings of industrial and mechanical objects. Heavyocity lists sources including industrial cogs, typewriters, steam engines, antique tractors and pinball machines. Together they provide about 2.6 GB of clanks, clangs and churns.

The content spans more than 9,000 samples and over 700 unique sources, with 280+ loops included. The result is a percussion palette that leans toward grit and irregular, metallic attacks rather than standard drum sounds.

Ensemble Designer and Loop Designer Workflow

Damage Machina uses the same two-instrument structure as Damage 2. Ensemble Designer and Loop Designer each offer a different way to build a part, and both are designed to be customized.

Ensemble Designer suits building layered percussion patterns from individual sources. Loop Designer focuses on the included loops, giving you a starting point for rhythmic material you can shape further inside the instrument.
