01Overview

CollaB3-V2 Pro is the Pro edition of Sampleson's CollaB3 V2 organ instrument. It recreates the classic tonewheel organ sound and adds a dedicated rotary amplifier emulation with cabinet and drive coloring. The Pro version adds a custom Rotary Amplifier panel, so you can shape the rotary sound to your taste. The developer built the engine on spectral modeling, and it adds new key-click noises and leakage to the mix.

CollaB3-V2 Pro focuses on the tonewheel organ and the rotary speaker that usually follows it. The update rebuilds the spectral-modeled sound engine and adds a modeled rotary emulation with amp circuit emulation that includes distortion. Wood cabinet resonance impulse responses add cabinet character.

The Pro version includes 7 rotary tweaking parameters and 4 mic positions or combinations. Sampleson describes the rotary emulation as capturing the nuances of the rotary speaker, including independent speed for the horn and drum, acceleration speed, amp distortion amount, mic position, and secondary sound reflections.

Workflow, Included Effects and Compatibility

The instrument includes chorus, reverb and percussion, so you can build a complete organ sound inside one plugin. It does not use velocity switching, and it does not need a separate player such as Kontakt or UVI. It runs as a VST2 or AU plugin inside a compatible host.

It is supported on Windows 7 or later and macOS 10.7 or later. Each platform needs about 70 MB of disk space and 4 GB of RAM. Pro Tools is not supported.
